According to recent LinkedIn job postings, eBay is looking to expand its Web3 team to support their KnownOrigin NFT marketplace.
eBay is hiring several Web3 roles focused on KnownOrigin, the non-fungible token marketplace that the company acquired in June. Crypto Counsel, Head of Community, a marketing executive, and other positions are among those listed.
The Crypto Counsel role, according to the LinkedIn job posting, will primarily serve KnownOrigin and will focus on advising the company’s blueprint as it expands into NFTs and other blockchain technology. The lawyer hired will provide regulatory guidance as the company delves deeper into Web3, working with colleagues in taxes, intellectual property (IP), and security.
“KnownOrigin.io is an early Web3 pioneer, an NFT marketplace empowering a new generation of digital artists to express themselves, find an audience, and earn a living from their passion,” according to the company’s job posting. “And they’re looking for like-minded people to join them in their endeavor!”
Despite the bear market’s woes, eBay has been making inroads into NFTs in recent months. The company released a collection of hockey-themed tokens with NFT platform OneOf in May. eBay partnered with fan engagement platform Notable Live earlier this week to introduce users to digital collectibles.
