First Lady, Jill Biden, 72 has tested positive for COVID19. She will remain at her house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where she and President Joe Biden spent some of the weekend. She has been vaccinated and has received booster shots. Following her diagnosis, the president’s virus test came back negative. On Monday night, the President made his own way back to Washington, DC.
The first lady and her husband had left on Saturday for Florida to check on hurricane Idalia’s devastation. Before going to a union event in Philadelphia on Monday and returning to the White House, President Biden first spent a portion of the Labor Day weekend at the Delaware beach house.
The Bidens both previously acquired COVID last summer.
The president’s hectic week is preceded by his wife’s positive test result. On Thursday, he is slated to leave for the G20 conference in India. On Sunday, he is expected to spend a day in Hanoi where he will meet with Vietnamese leaders.
