First Lady Jill Biden landed at the Orly Airport mid-morning in an official U.S. plane. She is in France to commemorate the return of US to the UNESCO, which is headquartered in Paris. President Joe Biden has sent her to reiterate the importance of the White House’s commitment to the organization after Trump’s earlier decision to withdraw from the UN body. She will also honor World War II troops. This is Jill Biden’s first trip to France as First Lady.

Monday
Jill Biden will meet and greet families at the US Embassy in Paris.
Tuesday
The First Lady of US Jill Biden will meet the First Lady of France Brigitte Macron at the Elysée Palace, in Paris.
The First Lady will watch as the US flag is raised at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and deliver remarks on the historic occasion. She will also greet Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of UNESCO.
The United States is a founder member of UNESCO. It withdrew its membership under the Trump administration in 2017. The Biden administration believes in the soft power of the organization. The US has seen its rivals gain a stronger foothold in the global organization after its withdrawal, and the current administration wishes to consolidate the position of the US as a world leader by renewing its membership.
Wednesday
First Lady Jill Biden will visit Normandy and Brittany. She will honor the American soldiers who lost their lives in the coastal towns in Northern France during World War II. She will visit the Brittany American cemetery to pay her respects to the fallen soldiers who remain buried in France.
Later in the day she will visit Mont Saint-Michel to highlight the need to maintain cultural heritage sites, as it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
