Oregon looks to build off the momentum of ending a five-game losing streak last time out when it hosts Portland on Wednesday night in Eugene, Ore.

The Ducks (5-5) put up 104 points against UC Davis on Saturday, the highest total they have scored since putting up 106 against Boise State in 2019. Oregon’s field-goal percentage of 60.7% was its highest in a single game since 2021.

“I thought we played pretty hard, pretty active, played with more energy, which was good to see,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “… All in all, a lot of positives.”

Center Nate Bittle (13.1 points, 6.6 rebounds per game) was limited to just seven minutes against UC Davis due to ankle stiffness. Altman said the hope is that the ankle is feeling better and that Bittle is able to play more against Portland.

Ege Demir picked up the slack against UC Davis, coming off the bench to log 15 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.

Oregon jumped out to a 16-0 lead against UC Davis and never looked back, going up by as many as 49.

The Pilots (7-4) have won their past two games but haven’t played the same caliber of schedule as Oregon, which will be their second major-conference opponent of the season.

They made 18 of 28 shots (64.3%) and scored 49 points in the second half of an 88-78 home win over Kent State on Sunday.

The Pilots’ leading scorer is 6-foot-8 freshman Timo George of the Netherlands, who comes off the bench to average 13.3 points in 20 minutes per game.

It was Cameron Williams (12.2 ppg) and Mikah Ballew (12.1 ppg) who led the way last time out, scoring 20 and 16 points, respectively.

“We want to play fast and score the ball,” Pilots coach Shantay Legans said earlier this season. “That’s what everybody likes to see. It’s entertainment at the end of the day.”
