On Friday, a popular outlet reported that WWE founder Vince McMahon is under investigation by federal prosecutors. According to sources who spoke to the well-known outlet, he is being investigated for alleged sexual trafficking crimes. Authorities have been interviewing women who have accused the WWE boss of sexual misconduct. On January 27, Vince McMahon resigned from the board of TKO Group, the parent company of WWE.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the billionaire founder of WWE has been under investigation since 2022 for sexual trafficking. Federal prosecutors in New York have been interviewing women who have made accusations of sexual misconduct against McMahon for months. The investigation reportedly includes a grand jury subpoena and a search warrant for his phone.

Former WWE employee Janel Grant had filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. Lawyers for Vince McMahon claimed that he would fight the allegations, while a lawyer for Laurinaitis contended that his client was also a victim of McMahon.

The Journal reported that at least four women plus Grant were named in the grand jury subpoena. They had accused him of sexual misconduct or sexual trafficking and had reached settlement agreements with him.

Federal prosecutors have not charged Vince McMahon. He has denied some claims, including those made by Rita Chatterton, a former WWE referee who accused him of allegedly raping her but has not addressed other allegations.

The 78-year-old billionaire has survived several sexual allegations raised against him. He stepped down as CEO of WWE after an investigation into his sexual misconduct found that payments of at least $12 million were made to four women for them to keep quiet about the sexual misconduct.

In 2023, Vince McMahon was reinstated and joined the board of parent TKO. He was once again forced to resign in late January 2024 after ex-employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit with graphic details of sexual misconduct and trafficking.

The investigation against Vince McMahon is being led by the US Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, and a spokesman declined to comment on the study. Parent TKO Group has also not commented on the matter.
