Formula 1 announced that Season 5 of the highly-acclaimed docuseries “Drive to Survive” will be released on Feb. 24.
The fifth season chronicles Max Verstappen’s dominating performance en route to a second consecutive world title along with what transpired behind the scenes with the 10 Formula 1 teams.
Verstappen is featured in Season 5 after declining to take part in the previous season of the Netflix series, which he had criticized for creating false narratives about drivers to generate drama.
The wait is almost over.

Among the storylines expected to be captured in Season 5 are the struggles of Mercedes, which finished third in the constructors championship, along with the controversy surrounding Red Bull for breaking budget cap rules during Verstappen’s 2021 championship season.
There were also several high-profile moves among the driver lineup. Chief among them was rising star Oscar Piastri moving to McLaren to take the seat of Australian countryman Daniel Ricciardo rather than staying at Apline to replace Fernando Alonso. Piastri’s case ultimately was resolved before the FIA Contract Recognitions Board.
Ricciardo’s future then became a hot topic for months before he returned to Red Bull as the reserve driver behind Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
