F1 News: Audi reveals F1 rebrand from Sauber for 2026 entry

Audi announced that its Formula 1 team will rebrand from Sauber to Audi Revolut F1 Team ahead of its 2026 entry.

The team announced in July that fintech company Revolut would be its title sponsor, with Monday’s brand reveal including a logo that features Audi’s four rings along with the sponsor’s name. The color scheme and design for the team’s two cars are scheduled to be revealed on Jan. 20 in Berlin, with a “public opening” the following day.

Audi’s first collective F1 test is slated for Jan. 26-30 in the Barcelona shakedown.

“Today, our project takes on its official identity,” Audi F1 team principal Jonathan Wheatley said in a statement. “The Audi Revolut F1 Team name is a symbol of the combined strength of our teams in Germany, UK and Switzerland, together with our partners. It provides a banner under which we all unite as we build towards 2026.

“This is a crucial milestone that energizes the entire project and makes our long-term ambition tangible for everyone involved.”

Audi agreed to purchase Sauber in October 2022 and will join the F1 grid for the first time next year while using its own engines.

Sauber had been part of the F1 grid since 1993, undergoing several changes during that time. It competed as the Stake F1 Team the past two years, with last year’s highlight seeing Nico Hulkenberg score the team’s first podium since 2012 at the British Grand Prix.

Hulkenberg finished 11th in the drivers’ standings while teammate Gabriel Bortoleto finished his rookie season 19th. Sauber placed ninth in the constructors’ standings.
