Rapper Eminem’s adopted daughter has come out as non-binary in a TikTok video. They said that they would now be known as Stevie. Earlier the adopted daughter of Eminem and his ex-wife Kim was called Whitney. She was adopted by the Slim Shady rapper in 2005. Stevie has received support from the family after they came out as gender fluid.
Stevie Laine posted a slide show of pictures of them depicting the last few years. It started with the caption: ‘Watch me become more comfortable with myself.” In the first series of photos, they sported longer hair and their old name and captioned it “Whitney/she, her” before their pronouns changed to “she/they.” Stevie then changed their name and announced they used all pronouns.
They wrote “Forever growing and changing<3” in the video caption and added two hashtags #genderfluid and #bi. Stevie got praise from family and friends for their journey. Their half-sister Hallie also liked the post. The 19-year-old also explained how they selected a new name.
When asked about how they had chosen their new name, they replied that they spent a long time trying to find a name that they were comfortable with and the first name they felt comfortable with was “Stevie.”
They also said that they were in the process of getting their new name on their passport. In an earlier Instagram post, the teenager had told their followers to use they, she or he when referring to them. At the age of fifteen they had previously come out as bisexual, at a Henry Stiles concert. They were referred to by their new name of Stevie in an obituary of their grandmother Kathleen Sluck, last month.
Rapper Eminem has a biological daughter with Kim called Hallie. He adopted two children Alaina 28, who is the daughter of Kim’s late twin sister Dawn and Stevie, when she was called Whitney, who is the biological child of Kim and her late ex-boyfriend Eric Hartter.
