Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, the visionary founder of xAI and several other groundbreaking companies, has once again made headlines with the release of xAI’s latest artificial intelligence model, Grok 3. Musk announced that this new AI model surpasses all other existing artificial intelligence systems currently available in the market. According to xAI, early testing results indicate that Grok 3 outperforms leading models from OpenAI and DeepSeek in areas such as math, science, and coding. The announcement has sparked widespread appreciation from web fans, many of whom took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their excitement.
During a live stream on X, Musk elaborated on the capabilities of Grok 3, stating, “Grok 3 is an order of magnitude more capable than Grok 2. It is a maximally truth-seeking AI, even if that truth is sometimes at odds with what is politically correct.” He also revealed that Grok 3 boasts ten times the computational resources of its predecessor, Grok 2, which was released in August 2024. Musk described the new model as “scary smart,” highlighting its advanced reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
The xAI lineup now includes Grok 3, Grok 3 mini, and two new reasoning models named Grok 3 Reasoning and Grok 3 mini Reasoning. Additionally, Grok 3 will feature a Deep Search function, akin to the Deep Research tools recently launched by Google and OpenAI, as well as a voice mode that Musk said could be available “as soon as a week from now.”
To cater to diverse user needs, xAI has introduced SuperGrok subscriptions for the various Grok 3 models. For now, X Premium Plus subscribers will have exclusive access to Grok 3. Musk also hinted at future plans, noting that it would take a few months to stabilize Grok 3, after which Grok 2 would be made open source.
Earlier this month, during a video call at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Musk emphasized Grok 3’s exceptional capabilities, stating, “Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning abilities. In the tests we’ve done so far, Grok 3 is outperforming anything that’s been released, that we’re aware of. That’s a good sign.”
