Ebuka Okorie tossed in a game-high 22 points to lead Stanford to a 70-64 victory over Boston College in an ACC matchup on Wednesday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Okorie, a freshman guard, entered the game averaging 22.4 points per contest, which ranked sixth among Division I players. He has scored at least 30 points in five games this season.

Stanford (16-9, 5-7 ACC) received 21 points and eight rebounds from Benny Gealer, who shot 6 of 13 from 3-point range. A Gealer 3-pointer gave the Cardinal a 68-62 advantage with 28.8 seconds left.

Boden Kapke had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Boston College (9-15, 2-9). Fred Payne added 14 points for the Eagles, who received a 13-point performance from Luka Toews. Payne was 0-for-6 on 3-point attempts.

Boston College’s losing streak was extended to five games.

The Eagles’ Donald Hand Jr. injured his leg midway through the first half and was taken to the locker room. He did not return. Hand is averaging 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and has scored at least 20 points in five games this season.

Stanford was 10 of 30 from 3-point range, and has made at least 10 3-point field goals in four of its last five games.

The Cardinal led by 14 points with 5:16 remaining in the first half, but Boston College finished the half on a 16-2 run to tie the game at 34-all.

The Eagles led 41-38 early in the second half, but a 14-2 spurt put Stanford in front 52-43. Boston College was within three until a three-point play by Okorie gave Stanford a 59-53 lead with 5:06 remaining. It was 65-62 before Gealer’s sixth 3-pointer of the game put the Cardinal up by six.
