Following Johnson’s withdrawal of support for controversial podcaster Joe Rogan — just three days after he had backed the presenter — when the Spotify star was called out for his repeated use of the N-word, Twitter users shared recordings of the footage.
After calling out a long-time friend for using the n-word in old podcasts, Dwayne Johnson has been called a hypocrite and chastised for his ‘racist’ Chinese impersonation.
The Hollywood actor was chastised earlier this week for his quick admiration of the US podcaster, who has led to several musicians boycotting Spotify owing to his distribution of “misinformation” regarding the Covid-19 vaccination.
His original tweet supporting Joe Rogan was disected by other news outlets.

The wrestler and actor stated that he was not aware Rogan’s N word use prior to his comments, but is now more “educated to his complete narrative.” This statement came after Don Winslow, author and political activist called out for his support of Rogan, reports said.
Johnson, who rose to prominence as a professional wrestler with the slogan “Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?” came to Twitter on Saturday to apologize to political journalist and GOP strategist Cheri Jacobus for backing Rogan.
Progressives and others have been calling on Spotify to revoke the Joe Rogan Experience host’s $100 million deal for spreading falsehoods about the COVID-19 vaccination.
Rogan apologized on Saturday after an old footage from his podcast surfaced in which he used the N-word over 20 times, saying that it was the most “regretful and shameful thing” he had spoken in public.
The Fast and Furious star had supported Rogan after he took to social media last Sunday to denounce charges that he was “promoting COVID disinformation” on his Spotify show, referring to the video as great stuff.
Spotify has pulled down 113 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience, the majority of which were recorded prior to his current COVID-19 scandal and featured far-right commentators.
The music of Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, at their request, was taken down from the streaming platform Spotify last week. The artists were followed by India Arie, a soul singer, and Graham Nash, a British singer-songwriter, with India Arie citing Rogan’s “racism” as a factor in her decision. Mary Trump, the niece of former US President Donald Trump, also announced the removal of her podcast from Spotify.
Despite his current scandal, Rogan continues to receive support from some conservative media figures. Prominent figures, such as Conservative commentator and Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro and President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro are also among them.
In another explicit tape, the longtime comedian jokingly refers to a movie theatre in a predominately black neighborhood as ‘Planet of the Apes,’ was shared by Arie. In the clip, Rogan is also heard telling two of his guests about a time when he took a cab with a friend to a movie theatre in a neighborhood where there are “no white people.”
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek is yet to reply to Rogan’s use of the N-word in the clips.
