Duke ended Auburn’s eight-week reign at No. 1 and reached the top of the Associated Press Top 25 poll Monday for the first time since November 2021.

The Blue Devils (28-3) earned 52 of the 61 first-place votes to lead the rankings for the first time since Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final season. Duke beat rival North Carolina 82-69 on Saturday for its eighth straight win.

No. 2 Houston (27-4) also moved up one spot and received five votes, while Auburn (27-4) tumbled two places and picked up the four remaining first-place ballots after back-to-back losses last week to Texas A&M and Alabama.

Florida (27-4) jumped one rung to No. 4 and the Crimson Tide (24-7) climbed two places to No. 5.

St. John’s (27-4), Michigan State (26-5), Tennessee (25-6), Texas Tech (24-7) and Clemson (26-5) round out the top 10 as postseason action starts to heat up.
