Ring out the old and ring in the new. As the New Year descended over Britain, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton lead the celebrations in the New Year. The royal couple shared a pretty picture. It featured William in a tuxedo and Kate in a dress that was both sparkly as well golden. Their Twitter post said, “Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.”
Other members of the royal family included the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles shared a few photos of them with music playing in the background. They also shared a photo of them with William and Kate at the same event which Kate and William used for their New Year social media post.
Charles and Camilla’s post read, “A joy to see so many of you again this year–whether that be with elbow bumps, handshakes or a friendly wave from afar!” The post also read “Wishing you all a very happy and restful New Year.”

The report from the Daily Mail also mentioned new year wishes from other dignitaries and celebrities. “Spice Girl, woman entrepreneur and wife of footballer David Beckham, Victoria Beckham shared a photo on Instagram that showed her dancing. She captioned it, “Hoping you all have a spicy one.” She added a peace sign as well as a heart emoji.
Sir Elton John shared a photo with 2021 on it. His long message thanked everyone for letting him share his music with “more people than ever before.” He said that he was looking forward to everything that 2022 had in store as well as his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.”
Sir Paul McCartney shared a photo of himself on stage. The backdrop showed dozens of fans cheering him. The 79 year-old singer of Beatles fame wrote, “Happy New Year’s. May next year be shining bright.”
Other celebrities who sent New Year wishes included Strictly star Rose Ayling-Ellis, the show’s first deaf contestant who won the trophy with strenuous training and live shows for 13 weeks, business magnate Lord Alan Sugar and others.
Politicians including Prime Minister Boris Johnson and London Mayor Sadiq Khan also extended New Year wishes to the world.
