Atlanta Dream guard Aari McDonald will miss approximately three to four weeks with a torn labrum, the team announced Tuesday.
The Dream said an MRI exam confirmed the initial diagnosis.
McDonald was injured during Friday’s 92-87 loss to the Las Vegas Aces. The team didn’t announce her injury until Tuesday.
McDonald is averaging 6.0 points and a team-high 3.8 assists in five games (all starts). She is in her third season after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft out of Arizona.
Last season, McDonald averaged a career-high 11.1 points in 36 games (six starts) and made a career-best 41.1 percent of her shots. She is shooting just 26.3 percent this season.
