Xtreme Gaming and Tundra Esports earned 2-0 victories in matchups between 1-2 teams on Sunday at the Dota 2 Fissure Playground event in Belgrade, Serbia.

After surviving an elimination match on Saturday, Xtreme Gaming took down Aurora Gaming on Sunday in 34 minutes on red and in 41 on green behind an average kills-deaths-assists ratio of 10-0.5-10.5 by China’s Guo “Xm” Hongcheng.

Meanwhile, PARIVISION, Team Spirit and Team Falcons each earned 2-1 victories to move to 3-1 and secure their spots in the playoffs.

The $1 million Dota tournament started with 16 teams competing in a group stage using a modified Swiss system. Group-play matches consist of a single map in the early going, then are best-of-three for matches that determine advancement or elimination.

The top eight teams in the group phase move on to the double-elimination playoffs. All playoff matches will be best-of-three except for the grand final on Feb. 2, which will be best-of-five.

PARAVISION opened with a victory in 24 minutes on green, but Team Liquid forced a decisive third game with a 51-minute win on red. PARAVISION pulled out the match on green in 33 minutes, led by Russia’s Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov, who posted a K-D-A average ratio of 9.3-3.3-8.6.

Team Spirit opened with a 32-minute win on red, then after Talon Esports tied it with a 37-minute victory on red, Team Spirit put the match away on green in 34 minutes. With a K-D-A average ratio of 7.6-4-7.3, Denis “Larl” Sigitov of Russia was strong for the winning side.

After a 54-minute loss on green to Gaimin Gladiators, Team Falcons picked up wins on red (48 minutes, 41 minutes) to secure the victory. Slovakia’s Oliver “skiter” Lepko provided a lift with a K-D-A average ratio of 9-3.6-15.

In the other matchup pitting 1-2 teams on Sunday, AVULUS earned a 2-1 win over Yakult Brothers. AVULUS rebounded after falling in 39 minutes on green with back-to-back wins on red (42 minutes and 28 minutes). Poland’s Marcel “Ekki” Holowienko led the way for AVULUS with an average K-D-A ratio of 7.3-6.3-18.3.
