A 2-0 loss to Team Falcons in the upper bracket semifinals ensured that Xtreme Gaming would have to take the longer, more difficult path to winning the Elite League championship.

On Sunday, they completed that quest, downing Azure Ray 2-0 in the lower bracket final before taking the grand final rematch with Team Falcons 3-1.

In addition to bragging rights, Xtreme Gaming will now take home $300,000 from the $960,000 prize pool.

The best-of-five championship series looked like it would be unkind to the eventual victors, as Team Falcons grabbed the opening contest in 44 minutes while playing on red. In that game, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak recorded 16 kills and 18 assists against only 2 deaths, while Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf notched 14 kills to go along with 20 assists.

In Game 2, Xtreme raced to victory in 30 minutes while playing on red. Guo “Xm” Hongcheng paced the winning side with 9 kills and 10 assists.

The third game saw Xtreme Gaming playing on green, winning speedily again in 33 minutes. Xm again led the way in kills, grabbing 8, and added 15 assists.

Xtreme closed out the championship with a 54-minute marathon win on red. Wang “Ame” Chunyu had 12 kills, 5 deaths, and 12 assists in the win, which tipped Xtreme’s way around the 49-minute mark.

Ame had a kills-to-deaths-to-assists ratio of 9.0-2.8-9.5 for the series, while Xm finished at 8.5-3.5-10.0. For Falcons, Malr1ne had a KDA of 8.8-4.8-8.0.

Earlier in the day, Xtreme defeated Azure Ray in 44 minutes playing on green and in 49 minutes playing on red. Xm had a KDA of 10.0-1.5-15.5.
