Xtreme Gaming extended its perfect start in the group stage of The International 2025 by beating the only other undefeated team, Team Tidebound, on Saturday in Hamburg, Germany.

With this victory, Xtreme Gaming is the first-place team in the group stage and earned an automatic berth in the playoffs. Team Tidebound responded with a win over Team Falcons later Saturday and also sealed a bid in the upper-bracket quarterfinals on Sept. 11. BetBoom Team downed PARIVISION for a third team in that quarterfinal bracket.

Sixteen teams are competing in the prestigious Dota 2 event — eight invitees and eight teams from regional qualifiers. The group stage employs a Swiss system format in which all matches are best-of-three. The top three teams will head straight to the playoffs, while the fourth through 13th teams will move to a special elimination round to determine the other five playoff teams.

The playoffs will utilize a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final on Sept. 14.

The tournament’s base prize pool is worth $1.6 million, and it will grow as 30 percent of all supporter bundle sales will be added to the pot. The current pool is more than $2.4 million.

On Saturday, Xtreme Gaming swept Team Tidebound 2-0, winning in 36 minutes on green and 64 minutes on red.

BetBoom Team, PARIVISION and Team Falcons all scored 2-0 victories in Round 4 on Saturday to stack behind Xtreme Gaming in the standings at 3-1, along with Team Tidebound.

In Round 5 matchups later Saturday between 3-1 teams, Team Tidebound beat Team Falcons 2-1, dropping the first game in 74 minutes on red, then winning in 71 minutes and 59 minutes, both on red. BetBoom defeated PARIVISION 2-1, winning in 38 minutes on red, falling in 53 minutes on red and winning in 67 minutes on green.

In matchups of 2-2 teams, HEROIC swept Tundra Esports, winning in 28 minutes and 40 minutes, both on green. Team Liquid got past Yakutou Brothers, rallying after dropping the opener in 31 minutes on red to win in 25 minutes and 39 minutes, both on green. Aurora Gaming swept Team Spirit 2-0, winning in 35 minutes and 38 minutes, both on green.

In matches between 1-3 teams, Nigma Galaxy downed Natus Vincere 2-1. Wildcat recovered from an opening loss to beat BOOM Esports, which started strong with a win in 29 minutes on green. Wildcat won the next two on red, in 58 and 62 minutes.

HEROIC swept Yakutou Brothers 2-0 in a matchup of 3-2 and 2-3 teams. HEROIC won in 38 minutes on green and 42 minutes on red to advance to the playoffs.

Matches between 3-2 and 2-3 teams slated for Sunday:

–Aurora Gaming vs. Nigma Galaxy
–PARIVISION vs. Wildcard
–Team Liquid vs. Tundra Esports
–Team Falcons vs. Team Spirit
