Team Yandex fell behind early before surging past Team Spirit 3-1 in the grand final on Sunday in the DreamLeague Season 27 playoffs.
Team Spirit advanced to the best-of-five final round by sweeping PARIVISION 2-0 in the lower-bracket final earlier Sunday.
The championship was worth $214,000 in prize money and a $30,000 club reward for Team Yandex. Team Spirit, as runner-up, earned $142,500 and a $25,000 club reward.
The $1 million Dota 2 event began with 24 teams competing in a Swiss System group stage. All matches were best-of-three, with the top eight teams advancing to the double-elimination playoffs.
Playoff matches were best-of-three ahead of the best-of-five grand final.
Team Spirit opened with a 38-minute win on green before Team Yandex rallied with three straight wins — in 40 minutes on green, 25 minutes on red and 36 minutes on green.
Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov of Kazakhstan led Team Yandex with a combined 32-6-33 kills-deaths-assist ratio for the entire match.
Earlier Sunday, Team Spirit swept PARIVISION in 62 minutes on green and 39 minutes on red.
Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk of Ukraine led Team Spirit with a combined 17-5-20 K-D-A ratio.
