Team Falcons and Tundra Esports swept their way on Saturday to Sunday’s grand final of the BLAST Slam III playoff stage in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Tundra Esports downed Gaimin Gladiators 2-0, winning in 58 minutes on red and 38 minutes on green.
Bozhider “bzm” Bodganov of Bulgaria led Tundra with an 11-1.5-11.5 average kills-deaths-assists ratio.
Team Falcons topped Team Spirit 2-0, winning in 45 minutes and 74 minutes on green.
Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf of Jordan starred for Team Falcons with a K-D-A average of 10.5-4.5-15.5.
The $1 million Dota 2 tournament began with a single-day group stage featuring two round-robin groups of five teams apiece. All matches were best-of-one. The top teams received byes into the semifinals, the second-place finishers were seeded into the quarterfinals, the third-place teams were seeded into Round 2 and the fourth- and fifth-place teams were placed into Round 1.
The playoff stage concludes Sunday in a single-elimination bracket. All matches were best-of-three until Sunday’s best-of-five grand final.
