Team Falcons edged HEROIC 2-1 on Saturday to punch their ticket to the grand final at the PGL Wallachia Season 2 event in Bucharest, Romania.

After Team Falcons prevailed in 45 minutes on red to open the match, HEROIC responded with a 47-minute victory on red to knot things at 1. Playing on green, Falcons then came away with a 60-minute win to send HEROIC to the lower bracket.

Jordan’s Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf led Team Falcons with an average kill-death-assist ratio of 13.3-5.3-12.3. David “Parker” Nicho Flores of Peru averaged 8.7 kills, 4.3 deaths and 9.0 assists for HEROIC.

The $1 million Dota 2 event started with 16 teams in a modified Swiss-system group stage. The top eight teams — all of which had to achieve three wins — advanced to the double-elimination playoffs, while the bottom eight were eliminated.

All matches are best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The champion will pocket $300,000, with the runner-up receiving $175,000.

Because of Saturday’s loss, HEROIC will have to face Tundra Esports in the lower-bracket final on Sunday. Tundra got there with a 2-1 victory over Natus Vincere, sandwiching 29-minute wins on green around a 38-minute setback on red.

Natus Vincere set up their meeting with Tundra Esports by blanking Nouns Esports 2-0 in the lower-bracket quarterfinals, where Tundra rallied to beat beastcoast 2-1.

The tournament concludes Sunday with two matches:
–HEROIC vs. Tundra Esports (lower-bracket final)
–Team Falcons vs. winner of lower-bracket final (grand final)

PGL Wallachia Season 2 prize pool:
1. $300,000
2. $175,000
3. $120,000
4. $80,000 — Natus Vincere
5-6. $60,000 — Nouns Esports, beastcoast
7-8. $40,000 — Infinity, AVULUS
9-11. $20,000 — Alliance, Azure Ray, Invictus Gaming
12-14. $15,000 — L1GA TEAM, MOUZ, Nigma Galaxy
