Talon Esports was the lone team to come away with a 2-0 win in Group B on Sunday as Group Stage 1 started at the DreamLeague Season 24 event.

All eight teams in Group B were in action on Sunday, but six were involved in 1-1 draws. That allowed Talon Esports to quickly grab the No. 1 spot in the standings thanks to their victory over Palianytsia that featured a 44-minute win on green and a 28-minute triumph on red.

Chung “Ws” Wei Shen of Malaysia led Talon with averages of 13.0 kills, 1.5 deaths and 12.0 assists.

In other Group B action, Team Falcons and Tundra Esports, HEROIC and Azure Ray and Team Spirit and Team Waska all tied at 1-1 in their respective matches.

Group Stage 1 features two groups competing in single round-robin play, with all matches consisting of two games. It runs through Wednesday, and the top four teams from each group will move on to Group Stage 2.

The eight teams that advance to Group Stage 2 will play each other in a singular round-robin group. There, all matches will be best-of-three, and the two best squads will land in the upper bracket of the playoffs, the third- and fourth-place teams will head to the lower bracket of the playoffs and the remaining four teams will be eliminated.

Group Stage 2 begins Friday and runs through Nov. 7.

Teams will be duking it out in a double-elimination bracket in the playoffs, which start Nov. 9. All matches are best-of-three aside from the best-of-five grand final. The winner will take home $300,000 of the $1 million prize pool.

On Sunday, Team Liquid and PARIVISION each secured a 2-0 win, beating Gaimin Gladiators and AVULUS, respectively. Nigma Galaxy and BetBoom Team tied 1-1, as did Xtreme Gaming and Nouns Esports.
