Quest Esports pulled off a sweep and a split Sunday to hold on to first place in Group B at the Bali Major 2023.
Quest swept BetBoom Team with wins in 37 minutes on red and 36 minutes on green, dropping BBT from second to third place in the group. Quest split with 9Pandas, dropping a map on red in 35 minutes, then engineering a quick 21-minute win on green.
Gaimin Gladiators moved into second place, also with a sweep and a split. GG opened with a hard-fought win over nouns in 69 and 42 minutes, both on red, before the split with Evil Geniuses. EG remains winless and in last place in Group B.
Team Liquid remained in first place in Group A with a split against Tundra Esports, who stand in a three-way tie for second place.
Also in that tie are beastcoast and Team Aster. beastcoast swept Invictus Gaming — IG won in 53 minutes on red, beastcoast in 33 minutes on red.
Aster won twice Sunday, sweeping Blacklist International and Execration. Aster beat Blacklist in 32 minutes on red and 20 on green; the victories over Execration came in 31 minutes on red and 30 on green.
Eighteen teams from around the world were invited to compete for a $500,000 prize pool. The winner will receive $200,000 and 600 DPC points, and the runner-up will earn $100,000 and 550 DPC points.
Group Stage 1 runs through Monday, with a single round-robin format and all matches best-of-two.
