DOTA News: PARIVISION, Tundra, Spirit, Chimera reach DreamLeague playoffs

PARIVISION, Tundra Esports, Team Spirit and Chimera Esports advanced to the four-team playoff at DreamLeague Season 25 while Team Falcons was the first team out following the conclusion of Group Stage 2 on Thursday.

PARIVISION completed a perfect 7-0 run by beating Chimera 2-0, knocking them down to 4-3 in the stage. But Chimera was safe after Tundra swept Team Falcons 2-0, and Team Spirit beat Team Liquid 2-1 to join Chimera in a tie at 4-3 while the Falcons settled for a 3-4 record.

The final match of the day saw BetBoom Team outlast HEROIC 2-1.

Group Stage 2 of the $1 million Dota 2 event is a single round-robin group with eight teams facing off in best-of-three matches. Each team played every other team once.

The top two teams from Group Stage 2, PARIVISION and Tundra, will head to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The third- and fourth-place teams, Spirit and Chimera, will land in the lower bracket, and the remaining teams have been eliminated.

The playoffs begin Saturday and feature a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three aside from the grand final on Sunday, which is best-of-five. The winning team gets $250,000 and a club reward of $40,000. There will also be 20,440 ESL Pro Tour points distributed to the participants.

On Thursday, PARIVISION defeated Chimera in 31 minutes and 56 minutes, both times on green. Russia’s Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov led PARIVISION with an average 9.5/4.5/11.0 kills-deaths-assists ratio.

Tundra topped Falcons in 30 minutes and 59 minutes on green to secure second place in the group. Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov of Bulgaria racked up a 14.5/1.5/16.5 K-D-A average for Tundra.

Team Spirit sandwiched 44-minute and 36-minute wins on green around Liquid’s 41-minute victory on red. In the decisive third map, Russia’s Denis “Larl” Sigitov carried Team Spirit with 13 kills, just one death and 15 assists.

HEROIC scored a 36-minute win on red before BetBoom came back with wins in 27 and 26 minutes, both on red. Danil “gpk” Skutin of Russia averaged a 6.0/1.3/4.7 K-D-A for BetBoom.

The playoffs begin Saturday with two matches:
–PARIVISION vs. Tundra Esports (upper-bracket final)
–Team Spirit vs. Chimera Esports (lower-bracket semifinal)
