DOTA News: Liquid, PARIVISION reach PGL Wallachia upper-bracket final

Team Liquid and PARIVISION advanced to the upper-bracket final of the PGL Wallachia Season 4 playoffs by notching semifinal wins Friday in Bucharest, Romania.

Liquid and PARIVISION will square off Saturday after Liquid swept Team Spirit 2-0 and PARIVISION rallied past Aurora Gaming 2-1.

In two other matches Friday, Tundra Esports opened the lower bracket with a 2-0 victory over NAVI Junior and Team Tidebound got past BetBoom Team 2-1. The losing teams in those matches were eliminated.

Sixteen teams started the $1 million Dota 2 tournament, with the top eight qualifying for the playoffs. All remaining matches are best-of-three until Sunday’s best-of-five grand final, where the winners will take home $300,000.

On Friday, Team Liquid prevailed in 52 minutes on green and 33 minutes on red over Team Spirit. Michael “miCKe” Vu of Sweden averaged a kills-deaths-assists ratio of 12.5-3.0-9.5 to pace Liquid.

Aurora beat PARIVISION in 44 minutes on red before PARIVISION won the next two maps on red, the latter by default. PARIVISION’s Volodymyr “No(o)ne-” Minenko of Ukraine put up 10 kills and 11 assists with five deaths on the decisive third map.

In the lower bracket, Tundra defeated NAVI Junior in 60 minutes and 53 minutes on green. BetBoom defeated Team Tidebound in 34 minutes on red before Tidebound recovered to win in 40 minutes and 53 minutes, both on green.
