Team Liquid rose into a tie for first in Group A by winning both their matches on Tuesday, while Team Falcons went 2-0 for the second straight day to strengthen its hold on first place in Group B as Group Stage 1 action continued at the DreamLeague Season 24 event.

Liquid defeated Nouns Esports and Nigma Galaxy in 2-0 sweeps to rise in the ranks and tie PARIVISION, who settled for a pair of ties with Xtreme Gaming and BetBoom Team.

In Group B, Team Falcons swept Talon Esports and Palianytsia to make it four straight wins since beginning the stage with a tie. Team Waska used a win and a tie to move into a share of second with Tundra Esports.

Group Stage 1 features two groups competing in single round-robin play, with all matches consisting of two games. Action runs through Wednesday, and the top four teams from each group will move on to Group Stage 2.

The eight teams that advance to Group Stage 2 will play each other in a lone round-robin group. There, all matches will be best-of-three, and the two best squads will land in the upper bracket of the playoffs, the third- and fourth-place teams will head to the lower bracket of the playoffs and the remaining four teams will be eliminated.

Group Stage 2 begins Friday and runs through Nov. 7.

The playoffs, which start Nov. 9, will feature a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three aside from the best-of-five grand final on Nov. 10. The winner will take home $300,000 of the $1 million prize pool.

On Tuesday, Liquid defeated Nouns in 36 minutes on red and 37 minutes on green; then they took care of Nigma Galaxy in 34 minutes on green and 44 minutes on red. In the latter match, Michael “miCKe” Vu of Sweden averaged 13 kills, two deaths and nine assists per map for Liquid.

The only other match that didn’t end in a tie in Group A saw Gaimin Gladiators defeat last-place Nouns, winning in 40 minutes on red and 44 minutes on green.

In Group B, Falcons beat Talon in 42 minutes on green and 45 minutes on red. Then, against Palianytsia, Falcons prevailed in 39 minutes on red before a quick 26-minute victory on green. In that match, Slovakia’s Oliver “skiter” Lepko averaged a 17.0-2.0-8.0 K-D-A ratio for Falcons.

Waska had a 35-minute triumph on green and a 44-minute win on red to sweep HEROIC, then faced Tundra and split the match 1-1. Waska won the first map in 46 minutes on red, but Tundra responded with a 34-minute victory, also playing on red.
