DOTA News: BetBoom takes down Tundra to win BLAST Slam I

BetBoom Team pulled away from Tundra Esports for a 3-1 victory in grand final of the BLAST Slam I on Sunday in Copenhagen, Denmark.

BetBoom Team won the $400,000 grand prize at the inaugural event, while Tundra had to settle for $200,000 as runners-up.

The grand final was tied 1-1 after BetBoom Team opened with a 43-minute win on red and Tundra responded with a 47-minute triumph on red. From there, BetBoom earned a win in 56 minutes on red and then clinched the championship with a 34-minute victory on green.

Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko of Russia led BetBoom with an average kills-deaths-assists ratio of 9.0-2.8-9.0. Tundra was paced by Artem “lorenof” Melnick of Ukraine, who totaled 20 kills over the four maps

The 10 teams in the $1 million Dota 2 event were divided into two groups for the opening round-robin phase of single-map matches. BetBoom and Tundra, the top teams in their respective groups, earned berths straight into the playoff semifinals and won those matches Saturday to advance to the grand final.

All playoff matches were best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final on Sunday.
