Aurora Gaming came from behind for a 2-1 win over BetBoom Team on Friday in their final Group Stage 2 match at DreamLeague Season 28, clinching a playoff berth.

The result left Aurora Gaming with a 4-3 record, tied for third place with Xtreme Gaming, who fell 2-1 to Team Falcons on Friday. That sets up Aurora Gaming and Xtreme Gaming for a lower-bracket semifinal match on Saturday to open the double-elimination playoffs.

There were no changes at the top of the standings on Friday. Team Liquid completed a 7-0 run through the round robin by rallying for a 2-1 victory over Tundra Esports, who took second place at 5-2.

Team Liquid and Tundra Esports will clash in the upper-bracket final on Saturday. The winner will head to the Sunday grand final, while the loser will face the Aurora-Xtreme victory in the lower-bracket final on Sunday.

The $1 million Dota 2 event began with 16 teams competing in a round-robin stage split into two groups of eight teams. All series consisted of two games, and the top four teams from each group advanced to Group Stage 2, a single round robin featuring best-of-three matches that ran through Friday.

The playoffs will feature best-of-three matches until the grand final, which will be best-of-five.

The championship team will receive $250,000 in prize money and a $40,000 club reward. The runner-up side will get $100,000 and a $30,000 club reward.

On Friday, BetBoom Team opened with a 26-minute win on red before Aurora Gaming bounced back for two victories on red, in 49 minutes and 43 minutes.

Russia’s Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko logged a 30-7-26 kill-death-assist ratio for Aurora Gaming. Russia’s Danil “gpk” Skutin finished at 17-11-22 for BetBoom Team.

After Team Falcons posted a 48-minute victory on red, Xtreme Gaming equalized in 52 minutes on green. Team Falcons sealed the series with a 67-minute win on red.

Slovakia’s Oliver “skiter” Lepko registered a 36-13-30 K-D-A ratio for Team Falcons. China’s Wang “Ame” Chunyu propelled Xtreme Gaming at 19-18-38.

Tundra Esports prevailed in 43 minutes on green, but Team Liquid responded with a 30-minute triumph on green and a 43-minute win on red.

Poland’s Michal “Nisha” Jankowski powered Team Liquid with a 34-6-37 K-D-A ratio. Russia’s Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko guided Tundra Esports with a 26-17-18 K-D-A ratio.
