DOTA News: 1win move to 4-0 in Elite League Season 2

1win won twice on Monday to maintain their perfect record in the round-robin stage of the Elite League Season 2 in Lima, Peru.

The first group stage in the $800,000 Dota 2 event featured 16 teams, with the top eight moving on to compete in best-of-three matches that will determine playoff seeding.

The top four teams in the round-robin stage move into the playoffs’ upper bracket, while the lower four teams head to the playoffs’ lower bracket.

The double-elimination playoffs run Friday through Sunday, with all matches best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final. The winning side will receive $240,000, and the runner-up will get $120,000.

On Monday, 1win improved to 4-0 by defeating BOOM Esports 2-1 and sweeping beastcoast 2-0.

BOOM Esports opened the match with a 45-minute win on red, but 1win responded with 29- and 26-minute victories, both on green. Russian Georgii “swedenstrong” Zainalabidov paced 1win with an average kill-death-assist ratio of 8.0/2.3/13.0.

1win then defeated beastcoast in 19 minutes and 46 minutes, with both wins on green, behind an average K-D-A ratio of 10.0/1.5/8.5 from Nikita “Munkushi~” Chepurnykh of Russia.

nouns also won twice on Monday to climb into a tie with OG for second place, both at 3-1. nouns rallied past OG for a 2-1 victory, then thrashed Execration 2-0.

OG posted a 29-minute victory on green ahead of nouns’ 40- and 33-minute wins on green. Nicaragua’s Yuma “Yuma” Langlet led nouns with an average K-D-A ratio of 7.7/3.0/7.7.

Against Execration, nouns prevailed in 41 minutes on green and in 27 minutes on red as Germany’s Philipp “Copy” Buhler averaged 10.0/1.5/11.0 for his K-D-A.

In the day’s other matches, Team Liquid defeated Execration 2-0, Shopify Rebellion edged beastcoast 2-1, OG nipped Team Liquid 2-1 and Shopify Rebellion topped BOOM Esports 2-1.
