The Walt Disney Company has said that it has reached a deal with OpenAI to bring several popular brands to Sora. The landmark agreement will bring beloved characters from Disney to OpenAI’s tool. Both companies have entered into a three-year licensing agreement. It will allow Sora to make short form videos using more than 200 Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars characters that will be streamed on Disney Plus.

The new agreement will allow Sora to generate short videos using prompts from web fans. These videos can be shared and viewed by fans. Disney will provide animated, masked, and creature characters, as well as costumes, props, vehicles, and environments. 

Disney will also invest $1 billion in equity in OpenAI. It will deploy the popular Chat GTP tool from the artificial intelligence company for its employees. It will use its APIs to build new products and tools as well as experiences for its streaming channel Disney +.

The Walt Disney Company and OpenAI said that working together with AI will protect user safety as well as creators’ rights. 

Robert A. Iger, the CEO of The Walt Disney Company said that the collaboration with OpenAI will “thoughtfully and responsibly extend the reach of our storytelling through generative AI, while respecting and protecting creators and their works.”

Sam Altman, the CEO and co-founder of OpenAI said that the agreement between the two companies showed that “AI companies and creative leaders can work together responsibly to promote innovation that benefits society, respect the importance of creativity, and help works reach vast new audiences.”

Web fans will be pleased to know that they can use many beloved Disney characters. According to OpenAI, some of the characters that can be used to make short videos include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Lilo, Stitch, Ariel, Belle, Beast, Simba, Musafa, and others.

Web fans can also use characters from the worlds of Frozen, Toy Story, Zootopia and many more. 

Web creators can also use animated or illustrated versions of Marvel and Lucas film characters. Some of them include Black Panther, Captain America, Deadpool, Thor and many more from Marvel, as well as Star Wars characters including Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and many more.
