Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) has posted its second-quarter results, and its stock price has risen by almost 3 percent. The company met Wall Street analysts’ estimates and posted higher sales this quarter. It reconfirmed its outlook for the year. Dr. Pepper also gained in popularity as it increased sales towards the most popular beverage maker in the US.
LSEG surveyed Wall Street analysts, and Keurig Dr. Pepper met their estimates of earnings per share of 45 cents adjusted and sales of $3.92 billion in the second quarter.
Keurig Dr Pepper’s net sales rose to $3.92 billion. This is a 1.8 increase in sales in this second quarter. Prices increased by 1.6 percent in comparison to the previous year. The company’s beverage division posted better results. It was reported that sales grew by 3.3 percent. The division raised its prices by 2.9 percent compared to last year’s quarter.
Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut drink was reported to be the company’s most successful limited-time beverage. Beverage Digest recently reported that Dr. Pepper became the second most-consumed soda in the nation. It beat Pepsi but remains behind the US beverage leader, Coca-Cola.
Keurig Dr Pepper’s coffee division in the US saw a 2.1 percent sales decline. Its K-Cup pod shipments were flat this quarter.
Keurig Dr Pepper’s international division saw a growth spurt of 15.5 percent this quarter. However, this has a smaller effect on the company’s bottom line than the sales in the nation, as the international division contributes to less than one-sixth of the company’s revenue.
The coffee and beverage giant reconfirmed its full-year outlook. It reiterated that its constant currency revenue growth would be in the mid-single digit range and its adjusted earnings per share growth in the high single-digit range.
