She announced on social media that she would stand for reelection in the U.S. in 2024. The 83-year-old dynamo is not the only older person to stand for reelection but has reignited the ageism debate among web fans, some of whom believe that experience matters while others think that there should be a cut off age for Congress.
Nancy Pelosi posted on X, formerly called Twitter that there was a need for America to show that the nation still stood for “liberty and justice for ALL” and that was the reason why she would be “running for reelection” and she “respectfully” asked San Franciscans for their vote.
Many outlets said that Pelosi had spoken to top advisers as well as to activists at breakfast, on Friday before she posted on social media.
