David Coit made eight 3-pointers, scoring a career-high 41 points to propel Maryland to a wild seesaw victory in overtime, 95-90, against Mount St. Mary’s Wednesday night in College Park, Md.

Darius Adams contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, and Elijah Saunders added 14 points as the Terrapins (4-1) won their third straight game.

It didn’t come easy for Maryland, which needed a three-point play from Coit with 22 seconds left and a 3-pointer by Coit with eight seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime.

In the extra session, Coit, a transfer from Kansas, added seven points, with his final trey coming with 52 seconds left.

Coit made 8 of his 10 attempts from distance and hit all 11 of his free-throw attempts. Maryland hit 12 of 27 (44.4%) overall from 3-point range.

It was Maryland’s first game without its top scorer and rebounder Pharrel Payne, who suffered a hip injury Saturday in a win at Marquette.

Arlandus Keyes scored 22 points and fueled a long-range assault for Mount St. Mary’s (1-4).

Xavier Lipscomb added 17 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Mountaineers, who reached the NCAA Tournament last year in the debut season of coach Donny Lind.

Mount St. Mary’s made 17 of 36 (47.2%) 3-point attempts, with Keyes connecting on 7 of 11 tries and Lipscomb making 4 of 6.

Trey Deveaux added 13 points for the Mountaineers, who shot 47.7% overall and out-rebounded the Terrapins 37-35.

Maryland led by 13 points early in the second half before Mount St. Mary’s went on a 24-5 run fueled by a trio of 3-pointers by Keyes.

Coit’s personal 8-0 run gave the Terrapins a 66-64 lead with 5:23 left.

Mount St. Mary’s regained control with a 7-0 run, which was triggered by Lipscomb with a 3-pointer. Two layups by Justin Amadi increased the Mountaineers’ lead to 71-66 with 3:26 left.
