Although the big box retailer offers free shipping, web fans who buy these homes must spend more on other essentials.
Web fans need a forklift, utilities, furnishings, and more to set up these tiny pop-up homes. The main factor to consider before buying such a home is owning land where this popup home can be established.
Walmart is selling 19 by 20-foot prefabricated homes from Cheryl Industrial for $15,900. The homes will be delivered to locations in a flatbed truck. However, a forklift is required to lift the home, and this is not all.
Web fans will have to lay a foundation on the land that will be used to house the popup home, obtain water and electricity connections, and assemble the house, which seems to be the easiest part. Later, furniture and other home needs will have to be bought, and this might not be a problem as tiny homeowners can purchase these essentials from Walmart itself.
The home has a steel frame that unfolds into a studio space. It has built-in windows, insulated walls, and an insulated roof. There is space for a bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. The space is unfinished except for the bathroom, which has a toilet and shower.
Some young homeowners have made videos and posted them online after buying such tiny homes and fixing them in their family backyards. They have managed to save money and then purchase proper homes.
