Across several occasions in recent days, three generations of the Royal Family have joined veterans, their families, and members of the Armed Forces in acts of national commemoration. Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Princess of Wales, along with their son, Prince George, have collectively upheld the Family’s longstanding tradition of honouring the profound sacrifices made by those who gave their lives for the benefit of the nation and the wider world.
The commemorative events comprised a special evening at the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance, the national service for Remembrance Sunday, and the observance of Armistice Day.

A Special Evening at the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance
On Saturday, a distinguished gathering convened at the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington for the Festival of Remembrance, attended by Their Majesties The King and Queen, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, and Prince George. This occasion marked the young Prince’s inaugural attendance at the event. The evening’s programme featured a series of musical performances, military displays, and a poignant act of commemoration led by the Royal British Legion. His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales was notably absent, having been engaged in an official visit to Brazil, from which he was returning and was reported also by CWEB News.

Remembrance Sunday
The central national ceremony of Remembrance Sunday was observed at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. His Majesty King Charles III and His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales participated in the solemn ritual of laying wreaths, honouring the extraordinary valour and sacrifice of all who have served, and those who continue to serve. The Royal Family, alongside senior figures of state and other dignitaries, gathered to pay tribute to the fallen. A two-minute silence was impeccably observed at the eleventh hour, preceded by the tolling of Big Ben and a single report from a gun on Horse Guards Parade. Her Majesty The Queen and The Princess of Wales watched the proceedings from a balcony.

On Remembrance Sunday, we pause to reflect on the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of all who have served – and continue to serve – in defence of our freedoms. We remember them, today and always.
Armistice Day
Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales attended separate engagements on Armistice Day. The Princess of Wales was present at the National Arboretum, attired in a sombre ensemble of black, complete with gloves and a hat, and adorned with elegant jewellery and poppies affixed to her coat. Meanwhile, The Prince of Wales delivered an address to schoolchildren, imparting a special message of remembrance.

Concurrently, Her Majesty The Queen attended the Poppies in Paddington initiative. At Platform 1 of the London tube station, she laid a wreath of poppies at the War Memorial and met with members of the military wives choirs, reservists, and veterans. Subsequently, Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a reception at Windsor Castle for veterans of the Second World War.
