While the Macrons successfully won an initial defamation case against the bloggers in France in 2024, the ruling was unfortunately overturned on appeal in 2025 on grounds of free expression.
Candace Owens subsequently leveraged her significant platform to internationalize the false narrative, declaring in March 2024 that she would stake her “entire professional reputation” on its veracity. Her legal team has now motioned for the U.S. case’s dismissal, framing the matter as an issue of free speech rather than defamation.
