Prince William said that he had founded the awards to transform the world for the better. He said that they have “set out to tackle environmental issues, head on and make real, lasting changes that would protect life on Earth.”
Prince William is a champion of the environment, like his father, King Charles. He is committed to the prize for 10 years. The Earth shots awards are given for the following categories: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans; Build a Waste-Free World; and Fix Our Climate.

Prince William reiterated his love for family as he recreated a photo that his mother Princess Diana had taken many decades ago in Rio. He also won the hearts of many royal fans in the Paqueta Island when he cuddled a 10-month-old child. He also met other children. He visited the island to learn about its mangrove habitat.
Prince William is keen sportsman. He kicked a football around with Brazilian football icon Cafu. He joked that he had played football together with the legend, and that he had beaten him. Both the personalities had played football with a group of children. These children came from schools around the Maracana area of Rio de Janeiro.
Prince William supports British football team Aston Villa. He took his son Prince George to Paris to watch his favourite football team Aston Villa play against Paris, Saint-Germain in the champions League in April 2025.
