Monday will see the delivery of Lori Vallow’s sentence. The Idaho mom was found guilty in May of killing her two daughters in part as a result of her and her husband’s “cultlike” beliefs.
When they were 7 and 16, respectively, JJ and Tylee Vallow’s son and daughter went missing in September 2019. Later, on Idaho property owned by Chad Daybell, their bodies were discovered.
A month later, Tammy Daybell, Chad Daybell’s wife, passed away. When Vallow and Chad Daybell married only a few weeks after she passed away, detectives began to doubt the first claim that she died of natural reasons.
Tammy Daybell was asphyxiated, according to the results of a second autopsy.
Vallow was found guilty of all allegations against her, including the deaths of the two children and the conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the case of Tammy Daybell, following a trial that lasted for several weeks and during which more than 60 witnesses were called to give testimony.
What is Lori Vallow’s fate at sentencing?
Prior to Judge Boyce issuing the ruling, Lori will also have a chance to speak. For each count of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, Lori faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison. In addition, she faces a sentence of one to twenty years in prison for big theft. She won’t receive the death penalty because Judge Boyce already ruled against it in March. She will serve her sentence at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center in Idaho.
Lori’s case was separated from husband Cha Daybell before the trial. The trial for Chad is scheduled to begin on April 1st, 2024. In Arizona, Lori is also accused of conspiring to murder her former nephew-in-law Brandon Boudreaux as well as her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, on separate counts.
