Team Vitality overcame an early deficit to knock off Astralis 2-1 on Saturday in the Group A grand final at the Blast Premier: Spring Groups 2024 event in Copenhagen, Denmark.

After dropping Inferno 13-10, Vitality punched its ticket to the $425,000 Spring Final with a 16-14 victory on Mirage and a 13-6 win on Nuke.

France’s Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut led the winning side with a match-high 65 kills to go along with a plus-26 kills-deaths differential, while Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard of Denmark paced Astralis with 53 kills and a plus-four K-D.

All four groups played their respective grand finals on Saturday, with FaZe Clan blanking Team Liquid 2-0 in Group B. Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro also earned sweeps, silencing G2 Esports in Group C and BIG in Group D, respectively.

Sixteen Counter-Strike 2 teams competed this week in four groups. The four group winners advanced to the Spring Final in London from June 12-16. The four second-place teams will meet in Sunday’s play-in stage, with the two winners advancing to the Spring Final. All matches are best-of-three.

The competition started Monday in Groups A and C. Groups B and D began play on Wednesday.

On Saturday, FaZe prevailed 13-11 on Nuke and 13-9 on Mirage to send Liquid to the play-in stage. Estonian Robin “ropz” Kool racked up 37 kills against 27 deaths for FaZe Clan. Even though his team took the loss, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken led all players with 38 kills.

Ukraine’s Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy finished with 37 kills and a plus-15 K-D ratio as Natus Vincere cruised to wins on Inferno (13-9) and Mirage (13-5). Only Russian Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov (plus-six) had a positive K-D for G2.

VP edged BIG 13-10 on Overpass, then marched to a 13-6 decision on Anubis. Dzhami “Jame” Ali totaled 37 kills for the all-Russian Virtus.pro side, while Germany’s David “prosus” Hesse notched 36 for BIG.

The play-in stage is set for Sunday with two matches:

–Astralis vs. BIG
–G2 Esports vs. Team Liquid

–Field Level Media
