Former Astralis and ENCE captain Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander is expected to be named as the coach of the 100 Thieves’ Counter-Strike 2 team, multiple media outlets reported.
The reports come nearly two weeks after gla1ve announced his retirement as an active competitor. In his announcement, the 30-year-old Danish star admitted that he was ready to transition into a coaching role.
“I believe I’m the first tier 1 IGL to transition into coaching in CS2,” gla1ve told HLTV last month. “This gives me a deep and up-to-date understanding of the meta and a unique edge. Coaching allows me to leverage my experience and my understanding of the game to develop players and shape a winning culture from the sidelines.
“I believe I can contribute more strategically, build stronger teams and have a long-lasting influence on the next generation.”
gla1ve was benched by ENCE in July in favor of Rigon “rigoN” Gashi after a stint with the team that included a win at the Elisa Masters Espoo. The four-time Major winner came to ENCE after spending the majority of the previous seven years with Astralis.
