CSGO News: MOUZ, Virtus.pro open BetBoom Dacha with wins

MOUZ and Virtus.pro scored sweeps Tuesday as action got underway in the $500,000 BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 event in the Serbian capital.

Competing in Group A, MOUZ defeated BetBoom Team and Virtus.pro beat Team Falcons by 2-0 scores. MOUZ will face VP in a winners match Thursday, with BetBoom and Falcons squaring off in an elimination match Wednesday.

Eight teams are participating in the Counter-Strike 2 tournament. Two groups of four teams are battling in a double-elimination format, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the single-elimination playoffs. All matches are best-of-three until Sunday’s best-of-five grand final.

MOUZ defeated BetBoom 13-11 on Dust II and 16-12 in overtime on Vertigo. Adam “torzsi” Torzsas of Hungary led MOUZ with 41 kills and a plus-16 kills-deaths differential.

Virtus.pro prevailed 16-13 in overtime on Vertigo and 13-5 on Mirage against Team Falcons. Petr “fame” Bolyshev of Russia led VP with 45 kills and a plus-17 kills-deaths differential.

The tournament continues Wednesday with three matches:
–Team Spirit vs. Aurora Gaming (Group B opening match)
–HEROIC vs. MIBR (Group B opening match)
–BetBoom vs. Team Falcons (Group A elimination match)
