CSGO News: MOUZ, Team Spirit advance to IEM Cologne finals

MOUZ and Team Spirit advanced to the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne finals by earning semifinal wins on Saturday in Germany.

When the two powerhouses meet in Sunday’s best-of-five final, a $400,000 first prize will be on the line. The loser will settle for $180,000.

MOUZ rolled into the finals over Team Vitality with a 13-9 win on Mirage and a 13-8 win on Train. Hungary’s Adam “torzsi” Torzsas led the way for MOUZ with 40 kills and a +21 kills-to-deaths differential. Dorian “xertioN” Berman of Israel also racked up 40 kills.

Team Spirit had a tougher route to the finals. Team Spirit opened with a 13-11 victory over Natus Vincere on Mirage, but NAVI answered with a 13-9 win on Nuke. Team Spirit closed out the match with a 13-6 win on Ancient.

The Russian tag-team of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets and Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov dominated for Team Spirit. Kryshkovets piled up a match-best 58 kills while Sokolov notched 54. Both finished with a +16 differential.

When the finalists met during the group stage of this $1 million tournament earlier in the week, Team Spirit earned a 2-1 victory over MOUZ.
