CSGO News: MOUZ, Spirit march on at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade #2

MOUZ came from behind to win while Team Spirit rolled to an easy victory on Thursday in the upper-bracket semifinals of the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade #2 event in Serbia.

Spirit raced to a 2-0 win over FURIA Esports before MOUZ rallied past paiN Gaming for a 2-1 triumph. The victors will meet in the upper-bracket final on Friday for a berth in the grand final.

In lower-bracket first-round matches on Thursday, Eternal Fire blitzed HEROIC 2-0, and Virtus.pro edged Team Falcons 2-1.

Twelve teams began play in the $500,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament last week. The top eight in group play moved on to the double-elimination playoffs. All playoff matches are best-of-three until the grand final on Sunday, which will be best-of-five.

The winning team will earn $250,000, while the runner-up will receive $125,000.

On Thursday, paiN Gaming began with a 16-12 overtime win on Vertigo before MOUZ captured Mirage 13-6 and Nuke 13-7. Israel’s Dorian “xertioN” Berman amassed 60 kills and a plus-19 kill-death differential to pace MOUZ. Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt topped paiN’s all-Brazilian squad with 50 kills and a plus-1 K-D differential.

Team Spirit thrashed FURIA 13-4 on Mirage and 13-1 on Anubis. Russia’s Danil “donk” Kryshkovets led Spirit with 41 kills and a plus-25 K-D differential. Felipe “skullz” Medeiros wound up with 16 kills and a minus-8 K-D differential for all-Brazilian FURIA.

Eternal Fire got past HEROIC 13-7 on Mirage, 13-10 on Anubis. Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dortkardes paced all-Turkish Eternal Fire with 42 kills and a plus-15 K-D differential. Israel’s Guy “NertZ” Iluz put up 31 kills and a plus-2 K-D differential for HEROIC.

Virtus.pro logged a 13-11 victory on Mirage before Team Falcons pulled level with a 13-8 win on Vertigo. On the decisive third map, Ancient, Virtus.pro emerged with a 13-9 win. Evgenii “FL1T” Lebedev registered 51 kills and a plus-10 K-D differential for Virtus.pro’s all-Russian roster. Spain’s Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia had 50 kills and a plus-8 K-D differential for Team Falcons.

Three matches are scheduled for Friday:
–Upper-bracket final: MOUZ vs. Team Spirit
–Lower-bracket second round: FURIA Esports vs. Eternal Fire
–Lower-bracket second round: paiN Gaming vs. Virtus.pro
