CSGO News: MOUZ, G2 lead playoff field at IEM Sydney

MOUZ and G2 Esports lead the playoff field at the $250,000 Intel Extreme Masters Sydney event in Australia.

MOUZ and G2 finished atop Groups A and B, respectively, and advanced to the Counter-Strike 2 semifinals.

MOUZ will face the winner of a quarterfinal between ENCE and FaZe Clan, while G2 will take on either BetBoom Team or Complexity Gaming.

All matches are best-of-three, including Sunday’s grand final. The champion earns $100,000 and automatic qualification for IEM Katowice 2024.

On Wednesday in Group A, MOUZ defeated BetBoom Team 2-1 in the upper-bracket final. MOUZ sandwiched a 19-15 win on Mirage and a 13-10 decision on Overpass around a 13-7 loss on Ancient.

G2 swept ENCE in the Group B upper-bracket final with a 13-9 win on Ancient and a 13-8 win on Vertigo. Complexity eliminated Monte in the lower-bracket final with a hard-fought sweep, winning 16-13 on both Overpass and Ancient.
