CSGO News: FaZe Clan survive challenges at CS Asia Championships

FaZe Clan came out on top in Group B action Thursday at the $500,000 CS Asia Championships in Shanghai, China.

After holding off Ninjas in Pyjamas 28-25 on Ancient in an epic opening match, FaZe Clan rallied for a 2-1 defeat of MOUZ in the Group B winners match. Following a 13-11 loss on Mirage, FaZe advanced to the semifinals with 13-8 wins on Nuke and Overpass.

MOUZ, who opened with a 13-2 rout of Wings Up Gaming on Inferno, moved to the quarterfinals of the eight-team Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

Ninjas in Pyjamas swept Wings Up in an elimination match, posting identical 13-6 wins on Ancient and Overpass.

The playoffs begin Saturday with MOUZ facing Lynn Vision Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas taking on ENCE. The MOUZ-LVG winner will meet Astralis in the semifinals, while the NIP-ENCE winner will meet FaZe Clan.

All playoff matches are best-of-three, with the winner of Sunday’s grand final earning $250,000 and the runner-up taking home $100,000.
