FaZe Clan and Complexity Gaming each recorded a sweep on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the $250,000 Intel Extreme Masters Sydney event in Australia.
FaZe Clan ousted ENCE with a 13-5 win on Nuke and a 13-0 victory on Anubis. Canadian Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken had 32 kills and a plus-19 kills-to-death differential to pace FaZe, who will face MOUZ in the semifinal of the Counter-Strike 2 tournament on Saturday.
Complexity bounced BetBoom Team with a 13-6 win on Anubis and a 13-11 victory on Ancient. Ricky “floppy” Kemery had 40 kills and a plus-13 K-D differential for Complexity, who will take on G2 Esports on Saturday.
All matches are best-of-three, including Sunday’s grand final. The champion earns $100,000 and automatic qualification for IEM Katowice 2024.
