CSGO News: Blast Premier: Spring Groups underway in Denmark

Action got underway with four sweeps on Monday at the Blast Premier: Spring Groups 2024 event in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Sixteen Counter-Strike 2 teams are competing this week in four groups. The four group winners will advance to the $425,000 Spring Final in London from June 12-16. The four second-place teams will meet in Sunday’s play-in stage, with the two winners advancing to the Spring Final. All matches are best-of-three.

The competition started on Monday in Groups A and C. Groups B and D will begin play on Wednesday.

In Group A, Team Vitality swept OG and Astralis swept Team Falcons. Vitality and Astralis will meet in the upper-bracket final on Tuesday, with OG and Falcons meeting in the lower-bracket semifinal.

Vitality won 13-0 on Mirage and 13-7 on Inferno. France’s Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut posted 33 kills and a plus-17 kills-deaths differential against OG.

Astralis won 13-8 on Vertigo and 13-3 on Ancient. Denmark’s Benjamin “blameF” Bremer had 31 kills and a plus-13 K-D differential against Falcons.

In Group C, G2 defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas and Natus Vincere took down Complexity Gaming by 2-0 scores. G2 and NAVI will square off in the upper-bracket final on Tuesday, with NIP and Complexity meeting in the lower-bracket semifinal.

G2 won 13-7 on Vertigo and 13-2 on Anubis. Russia’s Iya “m0NESY” Osipov tallied 43 kills and a plus-31 kills-deaths differential against Ninjas.

NAVI won 16-14 on Overpass and 13-8 on Anubis. Lithuania’s Justinas “jL” Lekavicius had 40 kills and Ukraine’s Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov had a plus-8 differential against Complexity.
