Ryan Kalkbrenner flirted with a triple-double and Arthur Kaluma posted a double-double Tuesday night for host Creighton, which rolled to an 83-61 win over Seton Hall in a Big East game in Omaha, Neb.

Kalkbrenner had 17 points, eight rebounds and six blocks for Creighton (9-6, 3-1 Big East), which has won three straight — by a combined 62 points — following a six-game losing streak

The six blocks tied a career-high for Kalkbrenner, who also had six blocks against DePaul on Jan. 22, 2022.

Kaluma had 14 points and 11 rebounds while Trey Alexander finished with 15 points and six assists. Ryan Nembhard added 14 points and five assists for the Bluejays, who shot 50.9 percent (29 of 57),

Femi Odukale scored 16 points and Tray Jackson added 11 points for Seton Hall (8-8, 1-4), which shot just 36.7 percent (22 of 60). Tyrese Samuel added nine points and six rebounds.

Seton Hall held a trio of early leads before a 3-pointer by Alexander with 12:30 left gave Creighton the lead for good at 13-10 and sparked a 12-0 run during which Kalkbrenner scored six straight points on three dunks. The Pirates were 0-for-3 with four turnovers during a scoreless stretch that spanned nearly five minutes.

A jumper by Odukale ended the run, but Kalkbrenner responded with a sky hook for Creighton, which never allowed Seton Hall to get closer than 12 thereafter. Nembhard scored 10 points in a half-ending 12-4 run that extended the Bluejays’ lead to 43-22.

Kadary Richmond opened the second half with a jumper for Seton Hall, which got no closer the rest of the way. Creighton went on a 10-0 run, during which the Pirates were 0-for-6 from the field with two turnovers, to take their first 32-point lead at 58-26 with 14:24 left. The Bluejays led by no fewer than the final margin the remainder of the game.
