Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin, who starred in the popular Korean drama “Crash Landing On You” are moving from reel life to real life. On Thursday, the couple separately announced their engagement to each other. The show became a global hit after it was on air on Korean television and was streamed by Netflix in 2019.
Son posted a tiny, ivory-white, wedding dress image in a hanger on Instagram. She added a caption that said that she had thought long and hard about how to share an important story about how she wanted to spend the rest of her life with someone, whom she didn’t name.
She said, “Yes, it’s him…It happened so naturally.” Then she questioned, “…But, isn’t that destiny?”
Following her post, Hyun also shared a message through his agency on Instagram. The message from VAST entertainment & Media used the names of their characters: Jeong Hyeok and Se-ri to say that they were “taking their first step together.”
The post also said that some followers may have already guessed that he had made the important decision of getting married. His post had a picture of both of them holding hands with the same caption in a handwritten version.
MS Team, who is Son’s agency, confirmed that they were engaged in a press statement. The statement said that the couple would get married in March and that it would be a private ceremony, as it was a difficult time for everybody, due to the pandemic.
The storyline of “Crash Landing On You” follows Yoon Se-ri, who is played by Son, meeting Ri Jeong Hyeck, who is played by Hyun on the Demilitarized Zone (DMR) on the side of North Korea. Se-ri, a young heiress and businesswoman is in a paragliding accident that results in her meeting Jeong Hyeck who is a military officer in North Korea as well as a high ranking official’s son.
Fans are delighted to see the chemistry on show following the young couple in their lives. They went public with their relationship in early 2021 and are set to tie the knot in 2022.
