According to the Horry County Police Department, a South Carolina man is in arrest after three members of his family, including an Atlantic Beach councilman, were allegedly shot, and killed.
In connection with the killings, 25-year-old Matthew Allen Dewitt was detained on Monday afternoon.
On Sunday afternoon, police were called to a residence in Horry County on the eastern coast of South Carolina to look into a death that they later concluded to be a homicide. Natasha Stevens, 52, was named as the victim by the Horry County Coroner’s Office, according to the police.
On Sunday night for a welfare check, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department also went to a house close to Columbia, South Carolina.
According to Horry County police, “deputies found two people deceased with apparent gunshot wounds upon arrival.”
The victims have been named as 52-year-old Columbia residents Gloria Dewitt and James Dewitt, II, by the Richland County Coroner’s Office. People and fans are very sad.
As of Tuesday, Matthew Allen Dewitt is still being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center after being arrested. Police say that charges against him are still pending.
