The complaint alleges that Dai used an online discussion platform designated for Cornell University, where he posted messages rife with threats. Among his disturbing posts were calls for the harm and death of Jewish individuals, along with a particularly alarming statement, “going to shoot up 104 west.” According to information gathered from Cornell University Police and publicly available data, 104 West is a dining facility at Cornell University primarily catering to Kosher dietary preferences. This establishment is situated adjacent to the Cornell Jewish Center, which provides housing for Cornell students.
One of Dai’s posts included threats to “stab” and “slit the throat” of Jewish males on campus, to subject Jewish females to acts of violence and harm, and even to target Jewish infants. In the same post, Dai menacingly threatened to bring an assault rifle onto campus, declaring his intent to harm others. It is crucial to note that the charges and allegations outlined in the complaint are merely accusations, and the defendant remains innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law.
The charge filed against Dai carries a maximum term of 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of up to 3 years.
